Aerial Patrol’s training aircraft is the Robinson R-44 Raven.  Robinsons are probably the most popular trainers in use today, as evidenced by the number of flight schools around the country that use them.  Although not the simplest or cheapest helicopter out there to learn in, if you plan to upgrade to turbines someday, the R-44 is probably your best choice.  It has a high-inertia rotor system, similar to its larger turbine cousins, and it has hydraulic controls like bigger helicopters.  It also has the advantage of actually being able to take some passengers with you once you attain your rating.

We also conduct flight instruction in customer owned helicopters.  We have several flight instructors on staff, and in addition to the R-44, we have instructors with experience instructing in the following:

·         Hughes 269 series

·         Hughes 500 series

·         Enstrom

·         Schweizer

·         Bell 205 “Hueys”

·         Bell 206 series

·         Bell 47
