UAS - Unmanned Aircraft System

North Little Rock, AR – Airborne Information Systems (AIS), a division of Aerial Patrol Inc. announced that on May 12, 2015, they became first company in Arkansas to receive an Exemption from FAA regulations and authorization to operate drones commercially.  AIS will begin operating drones or UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) in expansion of Aerial Patrol’s existing services.  Mike Minnix, the FAA’s Aviation Safety Inspector and UAS Focal Point for Arkansas confirmed that “while there are several public use UAS exemptions issued to public entities (law enforcement, fire departments, government agencies), AIS is one of the first in the state of Arkansas to receive an Exemption and the only operator to receive a Certificate of Authorization for commercial operations.”
